גנאולוגיה
הגנאלוגיה התגלה כתחביב מעניין והוסיף לי מידע רב על משפחתי, על השואה ובכלל על חיי היהודים בפולין ב-200 שנה האחרונות. אתגר אותי במיוחד והקשה עלי שהורי לא סיפרו לי את תלאותיהם והייתי צריך להתחיל הכול מהתחלה. אולם, פריחתו של האינטרנט באותה התקופה אפשר לי במאמץ קטן אך בעבודה דקדקנית למצוא מידע רב.

אתר נוסף בו נעזרתי רבות ואני ממשיך להתנדב בו הוא https://www.crarg.org שיותר מרוכז באזור בפולין ממנו באה משפחת אבי.

אבי נולד בקוניצפול (KONIECPOL) ולכן רוב מחקרי ההתחלתי התרכז בעיר זו. ראו מפה:
My father was born in Koniecpol, so most of my initial research was concentrated in that city. My mother was born in Lodz, where my father arrived with his family around 1930.
When I just started my research and posted online that I am a descendant of the Tushinsky family (my mother's maiden name) I was contacted by a nice lady Susan Kaplan Stone who told me about genealogical research she had done on the Tushinsky family and she suggested that I go to one of her relatives in Ra'anana to get all the information.
The information I received was still on paper so I scanned it and five files are viewable:
As part of my research, I ordered and received hundreds of copies of original certificates which I translated after learning a lot from Judith Fanzin's book (full copy of the book here).

אמי נולדה בלודז' (LODZ) שאליה הגיעה אבי עם משפחתו בסביבות שנה 1930.
כאשר רק התחלתי במחקרי ופרסמתי ברשת, שאני צאצא של משפחת טושינסקי (שם הנעורים של אמי), יצרה איתי קשר גברת נחמדה Susan Kaplan Stone. היא סיפרה לי אודות מחקר גנאלוגי, שעשתה על משפחת טושינסקי והציעה לי לגשת אל אחד מקרובי המשפחה שלה ברעננה בכדי לקבל את כל המידע. המידע שקיבלתי היה עדיין על נייר אז סרקתי אותו וחמשת הקבצים ניתנים לצפייה:
במסגרת מחקרי קיבלתי מאות העתקים של תעודות מקוריות, אותן תרגמתי, אחרי שלמדתי רבות בספרה של ג׳ודית פרנזין ונעזרתי בו לעתים קרובות (להעתק המלא של הספר לחצו כאן).
